(January 3, 1936 – May 11, 2021)

Richard Nonas arrived in Santa Barbara to exhibit at the Pamela Auchincloss Gallery. The work for the show was created at the Garner Tullis Workshop. The project included sculptures incorporating railroad ties and thick steel sheets and rods, as well as a series of monoprints. Steel fabricators cut the heavy steel elements for the sculptures; Garner and Nonas assembled the pieces. For the monoprints, multiple plates were combined to create a single image. The individual plates were cut from aluminum, painted, then composed and printed on the small hydraulic platen press.
